Directors of SME's are not counting themselves as valuable assets worth protecting!

Protecting your most valuable assets...

Directors of SME's are not counting themselves as valuable assets worth protecting, according to new research. Only a quarter (26%) of SME's have key person insurance, despite 30% of them having actually experienced the loss of a key person due to illness for more than 3 months. Smaller businesses with 50 or fewer employees are the most vulnerable to such a loss, yet of these 57% did not consider key person insurance to be necessary. SME's are more likely to insure their premises and stock than their key people. According to the research, fewer than half of SME's had discussed business protection insurance with anyone, or had a policy recommended to them.
